This disparity in distribution burdens the average individual with exorbitant costs for medical care. The middle class is particularly vulnerable to the impact of illness and healthcare expenses. This report explores the potential of implementing and expanding the ‘New AIIMS Model’ in India to address these challenges.
State of Doctor’s Health in India
In India, doctors are often overworked and sometimes, underpaid, leading to high levels of stress and burnout. Furthermore, the COVID-19 pandemic has only exacerbated these issues. Doctors have been working long hours on the frontlines, risking their own health to care for others. This has serious consequences for both the doctors themselves, as well as their patients. The findings of the study will be critical in addressing the issues related to doctors’ health in India and the need for intervention to improve their health.
